http://www.guardian.co.uk/military This is a short article that gives the numbers of soldiers that fought for the British Army from around the Empire
The Caribbean experience

http://www.black-heritage.com This is an excellent article, originally from the Guardian Newspaper about George Blackman, from Jamaica, who was interviewed in 2002 at the age of 107 about his experiences fighting in the First World War

The Indian experience
